A splash of yellow - birds from Kenilworth Park 18th AprilWe're still waiting for the waves of warblers to begin, but in the meantime Kenilworth continues to offer the odd bird of note. This morning, after a misty start at Kenilworth Park at 6.30am, finally picked up Wild Turkey for my DC list. After that it was off to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to spend some time watching the Osprey nest.
A text from Hugh (leading the ebird DC top 100 list by quite some margin), and I was back over at the Park, where Eastern Meadowlark and Savannah Sparrow (3) were the main attractions.
Two summer plumage Laughing Gulls overhead were also noteworthy. At the end of the road, Tree Swallows and a pair of Eastern Bluebirds were squabbling over hole nesting rites.
