If I love my wife first, my dogs second, my photography third then where on earth do I rate my garden, you don’t get a medal for fourth?
Come to think of it a bronze does not do merit to the passion I have for photography, after all it is my excuse for going to the wild places. My wife knows I love her so she won’t mind silver if I promote photography to first place in order to accommodate my garden in third, but what then of Bilbo & Buddy? How do I explain to their adorably simplistic canine minds that they are only fourth in my hearts affections, that the space they regard as a toilet is actually more important than they themselves? No, it would be wrong, their saucer eyes would haunt me forever. They have to go back to their original second place; having only just elevated the garden to third it has to stay there…Sarah will understand…when I tell her! After all it is the ‘taking part’ that counts.
